Great ride to ride around I70 going over a few mountains and over Squaw Pass.
The Buckhorn Road section was completely re-done after flooding and the asphalt on the new section is perfect. While they did iron out some of the curves there are still some nice tight curves, stable radius. Over Rist Canyon is also nice, scenic, with a great view at the top. Favorite local ride for Fort Collins residents. Or keep going and get to the Poudre Canyon which follows the river and has many nice curves.
Half day route.
This is one of the lesser traveled routes up to Nederland and one of the best. I like riding this one up and then come down Golden Gate Canyon Rd with a coffee and sweet roll in between. Some great vistas, good variety of terrain and curves. Road is generally in good to excellent condition and there is very little other than some local traffic. Great loop for a day ride out of Denver.
Start at Hwy 93 and Coal Creek canyon road. Head up Coal Creek canyon on smooth twisties to Wonderview then continue to Hwy 119 (peak to peak Hwy). Turn south for approximately 5 miles then east on Golden Gate Canyon Rd. Head down canyon back to Hwy 93. Watch for gravel on road in the spring.
Amazing road, one of the highest and most scenic around. Hairpin turns, amazing views and cliff walls but there can be a lot of tourist traffic so best taken at a quiet time if possible.
Beautiful flowing road with lots to see through this historical mining area, cave like tunnels are fun. Can be quite popular with tourists but still very nice.
Road is closed seasonally and is a toll when open but wow!
Lots of curves and spectacular drop offs, great ride.
Lots of nice curves, some blind and there can be some dirt on the surface, otherwise excellent.
Amazing views all over the place, good corners and surface reasonable. Popular with cyclists so be aware.
A nice variety of curves of this canyon section. little other traffic.
Great (but quite narrow) switchbacks, popular with cyclists which can make passing hazardous, great when its not too busy. Amazing views
Lots of curves, nice ride but watch out for cyclists.
Spectacular views, great scenery and corner after corner of fun.
Surface a bit patchy in places and can have bad weather here, but the trail ridge road is (so I'm told) the highest paved pass in the USA. Very nice experience riding this road
Lots of curves from Granby, becoming less so at the end, good surface and little traffic. Great nature and mountain spotting.
The Berthoud pass offers a frenzied connection of very tight bends through the very scenically interesting forest. One of Colorado's most demanding motorcycling roads
Another twisty up and down section in this beautiful area, well worth a look.
One of a few nice twisty roads leading into Nederland.
A wickedly twisty 20 mile section of curves leading down to the lake at Nederland. Try not to get distracted by the climbers on the steep granite faces!
From Fort Collins take the 14 west to Ted's Place and Cache la Poudre, from here you begine on of the best scenic highway's in the area. following the river through a cut gorge along the road in the heart of the Roosevelt National Forest. Tight twisties and and steep cliff walls keep you focused!
