Probably the best route around Melbourne!
A nice jaunt thru the Brisbane ranges, passing thru Meredith a couple times.
some of my favorite Bike Roads in the SE on this Ride. I take the day and stop at Powell town. Nojee and Picnic Point for Breaks.
Quick Ride. Nice Scenery and Some nice Corners. Road is a bit Bumpy around Bayles
Enjoyable off highway scenic route
easy chill route for my MT07
Challenging loop ride getting the best of the views of the great ocean road along with fantastic riding through the bush to Colac. Stops in Lorne for a coffee and Colac for lunch before making your way back through Forrest.
This was a Gisborne Rotary Ride (Guy Fawkes Run) through the delightful Macedon Ranges
Plenty of good coffee stops on route and some spectacular scenery and some great roads. A few sharp corners just to keep it interesting. A great ride on a sunny Sunday.
Good mix of fast corners & straights
Essentially entering down into, riding thru & coming up out of a valley, nice downhill & uphill corners.
Very short but sweet. The uphill climb consists of several quite tight corners. Once level, the roadside becomes populated by houses. The whole stretch is signposted at 50kmh. Be wary of local traffic. Once at the top, turn around & head back down to the bottom.
Speed drops to 80 under the second bridge, try to respect it as there is a house on the right & the Werribee gorge turnoff on the left..open the throttle back up after the next M8 overpass as you head towards Myrniong..watch out for a fruit truck & tourists on the left.
Nice quick detour off the western highway. Speed limit drops from 100 to 80 under the bridge as there are houses and a side road to Werribee gorge nearby.
The excellent Bonang Highway, signposts warn of over 100kms of curves! That about says it all really. A real gem.
If you're heading through Gembrook from the west, it's very easy to accidentally take this detour instead of heading north at the edge of town. Unless you're pressed for time you won't mind, though. Up and back to Gembrook is about 16km of slightly narrow but smooth and level tarmac. Since the road goes nowhere except to a few farms and dirt bike trails there is very little traffic. Turn around at the T-intersection with the little traffic island (unless you like gravel). Trees cover the road, so watch out for debris after bad weather. There are a couple of driveways and farm entrances (no more than normal for the area), so look out for gravel and mud as well.
must stop at violet town for lunch as there food is great and reasonably priced and he pub has accommodation and great food.
Short ride of Yarra Blend and views of Melbourne City
The longer scenic route to Moto GP at Phillip Island.
Loop starting from Melbourne, passing through kinglake and some great alpine twisty roads through Marysville & Russell Spur before finishing up back in Melbourne CBD
What a great ride-the road condition is some of the best i have ridden on-smooth but grippy with some leaves and small sticks and the occasional 4WD in the middle of the corner but importantly, consistent with virtually no holes or brakes.
Midweek in spring-it doesn`t get any better!
nice long ride for an afternoon.
Very rural, decent twisties.
Short road. Beautiful very fast sweeping corners, an undiscovered Gem in the west. Be wary, as at least one of the corners is in a bad state.
Do a slow ride thru first to make sure the road surface is ok.
This short ride is often overlooked by riders heading to either Dunkeld or Halls' Gap. A short detour up to the Mount Williiam carpark, (you have to walk to the top) offers some seriously tight twisties all the way to the top. The road surface is pretty good, the road is wide enough to avoid the tourists coming down the mountain. There is sheer rock wall on one side of the road, and sheer drop on the other, so be careful looking at the stunning scenery of ancient rock formations. Lots of places to stop and take pics or admire the view. Watch traffic on the weekends, watch for snow in the heart of winter. Absolute stunner of a road. A++
