Did this route from Salamanca, and back again to Salamanca, Fantastic route
A mix of rural open roads, villages, and mountains
A spectacular ride on our Harley to the top of Pena de Francia - a 5666 ft mountain in the Castile y Leon region of Spain. There's a video of the ride at https://youtu.be/uqdA-BSMT4g
A compound of all the best corners in the area
Perfect route for a Sunday morning.
Sierra Guadarrama. Great mountain road very close to Madrid. Three great mountain passes at an average altitude of 1800m (5900 feets). A view of the Peñalara Peak (2.428 m), highest peak of the Sierra Guadarrama. Have fun!
The M-618 linking Torrelodones and Colmenar viejo, in Madrid\\\'s area, is a very nice road with lots of different curves, with an awesome view of The mountains from a side, and the city of Madrid and El Pardo Reservoir from the other.
Good Road to take a nice short brake off the city of Madrid and enjoy some nice curves for around an hour.\r\nA fixed radar is located between Boadilla and Brunete.
This area of Spain is not known for its scenery but this particular ride as about as good as it gets unless you go to the coast. There are some magnificent views of the Navacerrada mountains on this route I did this ride this weekend (Mar 1 2013) and there was a lot of snow around which made the ride more stimulating but the roads were well cleared.
Ruta divertida com increíbles vistas y muchas curvas
This route is 90 miles long and any part can be riden and enjoyed. Some sections are high speed sweeping bends and others nicely twisty without hair pin bends. Road surface is excellent and scenary brill with a large lake and dam and a bikers cafe at the North East point. Highly recommended if your out that way.
Great scenery that changes along the entire route. The roads are mainly straight, the epic ones that go to the horizon in a heat haze. There are some wonderful views along the way with plenty of great little towns and villages that you go through which are a delightful. There are also a number of old ruins along the way which can be seen from the road. This isn't a riders road, but you'll be happy to take a relaxing ride and just enjoy sights and smells a long the way.
A great road generally but the fun really starts after you leave Rascaria. Great alpine road, well surfaced, with switchbacks, mountain vistas etc. Could be a bit full of hikers and tree huggers in the summer but on a Tues afternoon in October was almost deserted. Rockin' on a Multistrada but would suit any bike.
sudar.
El Escorial - Robledo de Chavela (por la Cruz Verde) -
Valdemaqueda - Cebreros - El Tiemblo - Navaluenga.
I think this is the highest mountain pass in the area, just over 1,900m and it gets quite cold at top, nice views when its not misty.
The road surface is good & wide, and as you can imagine with a mountain pass lots of corners. Was quite wet when i went along here in late May 08 but still worth it for scenery.
Places of interest on the way is (not sure of name, in English is something like Valley of the Dead) Church where Franco is burried (bit of a controversial place, in Spain, as Franco built it using soldiers captured during the civil war, a lot of whom died making the place) then onto El Escorial, burrial place of all Spanish royalty, impressive building.
Very nice road for views and just a plesant ride amongst the forests as you climb higher and higher and then down opposite side of valley, was being resurfaced late May 08. Gets a bit chilly at top, think pass is about 1,700m (quite high).
Pedraza is an interesting little place to visit, if you use the back roads north of the main road you get some very nice views plus the roads are very quiet with a decent surface.
The first 50 kilometers from Requena offer some nice, sweeping curves with a few tighter ones that can creep up on you. Good quality tarmac. You may encounter local riders from Valencia out for a day trip.
