Nice on a sunny day.
4.0Riding from Mont de Marsan to the base of the Pyrenees with a constant view of the mountains. Nice corners and scenery.
4.0A nice trip to a beautiful chateau
5.0Petit périple entre amis
4.0200km circular run
Excellent fast & windy sections
Some surface issues here & there but surface generally good
Best bits are:-
Vergt to Bergerac
Port de couze to Sarlat
Sarlat to Montignac and on to les versanne
Lots of places to stop for coffee/ lunch.
3.0This is an amazing circuit for the tourer who likes to get the knee down occasionally but wants a beautiful, interesting rural route with lots of cafes and sightseeing. Bourdeilles and Brantome are stunning riverside loacations and the riverside route until you get to St Pardoux is legendary. Great out of tourist season (I am lucky, I live here!) Roads are pretty good here - the main bits have sone great straights and the twisty bits will give you the opportunity to flick it around. You need plenty of respect for the rural nature of the area (locals forget everything they learned the moment they pass their test)but the rewards are amazing. Take half a day by stopping off at every opportunity to get a coffee fix ( you will be buzzing by the end of it) or do what I do - the whole circuit then repeat the bit to Brantome (amazing section) and have lunch there. Oh yes, and if you Do decide to do it, e-mail me first and I will join you!!!!
3.0Petit bout de route bien sinueux.
3.0Easy road with a few nice turns in the beautiful french basque country
4.0Fastish corners on this easy mountain road.
5.0Very twisty and nice mini col that passes a scenic chateau (that is very popular with tourists) the road can be a little blind but is excellent fun for many types of bike but perhaps best for a GS or similar
4.0Very twisty and narrow and blind in places., good fun but be aware
4.0Nice rolling sweepers with good surface for a sportsbike. Not difficult to pass if you don't mind bending a few rules. Busy in tourist peeiods
4.0Great for dual sport bikes and those that don't mind a few bumps. Excellent selection of (if a bit narrow) corners through rural Dordogne. Nice villages and cafes and not much traffic
4.0Another nice twisty road. Can be busy at tourist times but very pleasant and nice corners to be enjoyed
4.0A very nicely surfaced little section running parallel to the motorway. Some excellent corners that you can get round nicely on a sportsbike
4.0This route is an alternative to using the busy N21 for Bergerac to Perigueux. Approximately 2km north of Bergerac bear right onto the D21 signed for Vergt. The road from this junction is really quiet wide and smooth. The road follow a river for most of the route and twists and turns with it the first 30k is fast and open until Vergt. Once through the town of Vergt the road becomes more twisty with tighter corners and less in the way of straights. There are a number of small villages with roadside cafes, Vergt has all the ususal shops and eating establishments you might need.
3.0Leaving the village the turns begin and it quickly becomes a selection of fast corners with a good surface.
3.0Should be D49 but on Michelin it has a different number!
