The coast road from Paestum to Salerno isn that interestng but after looking at the Greek Temples for a few hours its good to prepare yourself for the rigours of the Amalfi Coast Road.
Avoid weekends, the road is full of local nutters in cars and bikes (scooters as well) cutting all the bends and head on at all times to oncoming traffic. Weekdays its better... more tarmac visible and easier to get the pace up.
Whether the map will show the route accurately is another thing as I was unable to upload a GPX file and there seems no ways to enter mid-route gps locations...
Another Famous Swiss Alpine Pass
Another Famous and spectacular alpine pass joining Switzerland to Italy.
From Bormio take the S42 and then S300 south towards Ponte di Legno. You can go a little further and end at the Passo di Tonale at a mere 1883 metres. On the way you'll pass over oen of the highest passes in Europs and in this area only the Stelvio out does it - The Gavia Pass, a mere baby at 2618m or 8617 feet - N46.3437 E10.4875!
Nice ride rom Bormio to Livigno along S301 taking in the Foscagno Pass (2291m). Pleasant ride and at an altitude to get old carbed bangers wheezing.
Once out of Hythe the back roads through Lympne, Aldington, Ruckinge to Ham Street, then Tenterden are pretty good with some decent corners. The road surface in places can be a poor but a decent eye can avoid thw worst. From Tenterden to Goudhurst is a little better with a few villages to slow down through but mostly open road. The fianl but is the A21 dual carriageway and fat but not without some danger from prats in cars and coppers.
The route start in Caen and is a trip along the D-Day beaches taking in a few stops along the may from Caen to Ouisterham to Omaha Beach.
