Not much in this neck of the woods but this wee run is as good as it gets. Some nice second and third gear corners to attack, together with faster flowing fourth, fifth gear bends. Most corners have reasonable to good visibility. No real annoying hedgerows to speak of. Find and follow local chap Steve on a Trumpie 675 going quick. He runs this road regularly.

A lot of really tight bends, great fun to ride but hard work. The route south of Fichingfield to Church End is just as good.

Starting on the A1017 south of Haverhill, take the B1057 towards steeple Bumstead. This is a flowing country road with a mix of short fast straights combined with some good corners. Follow the natural flow of the road through Steeple Bumstead, out onto more quicker stretches the other side, finishing in Finchingfield, where if you do it on a Sunday morning, will be packed with other bikers.

I have ridden this road quite a few times. Be WARNED Finchingfield Locals have made a formal complaint abt bikers going through over the 30 limit a child was knocked down recently as well! otherwise a really good route to ride all the way from haverhill down to braintree you need to slow down on some of the bends as they can be deciving & u might just want to twist it a bit

Lovely road with plenty of nice and varied bends and changes of elevation, decent surface, generally a lovely ride! Mind you I met the most unusual hazard Ive ever done on here - a house on a flatbed trailer taking up the whole road on both sides!

The twisty roads around here are fantastic and loads of them, a good gathering of bikes at he cafe & pub in the middle of Finchingfield ,I had a wake up call last month on the route to Haverhill via Steeple Bumstead and trashed my 05 zx10r. so bewarned on these roads its tempting to turn it on a bit

It is difficult to find a dull road around Finchingfield, but this is probably the most demanding. It is slightly hilly with reasonable view through the bends. The road is not conventionally twisty, but is a series of short fast stretches with very sharp right-angle turns. To ride it briskly without making any error of judgement is an achievement to be proud of. There is a left turn shortly after Finchingfield, and a right and left turn in Steeple Bumpstead, but otherwise navigation is straightforward.
