This short gravel road has some nice scenery by the sea and leads to the start of the trail (on foot only) that goes down to balos beach.
Bit of onroad and off road. Very nice view

The route starts near Observatory, just before the road bar. At the beginning the road is paved but soon you will be on a trail that runs though Rouvas forest and goes down to village Ghergheri. Just a few kms before Ghergeri village the road is paved again. Above Ghergeri you can enjoy the great view to Zaros lake. In winter the road is not so good. It's full of rocks from the mountain above and full of small channels caused by the heavy rain.

A small moderate unpaved road that leads to the entrance of Aghiofarago gorge. Aghiofarago is one of the most impressive and easy to cross gorges in Crete. A 20 min walk will lead you to a beautiful beach.
Note that if you run in a closed fence door, just open it to pass and then close it again.
Near Amygdalokefali village follow the road to Livadia village. A nice road that climbs down the mountain with continues hairpins and great sea view. From Livadia a new paved road (9/2008) follows the coastline, passing from lots of really small and quiet sandy beaches and from an old gypsum pit just before you cross the main road to Chrisoskalitisa.
20 km of easy off road driving. You can do it with any bike due summer. At winter time, the rain makes it a bit more difficult for non off road bikes. The unpaved road starts just a few km out of Vasiliki village. A mountain path will drive you though the wild Asterousia Mountains. Tripiti gorge is 8 km away from Vasiliki. The scenery is unique as you can see in the photos too. The path through the gorge is too close but no too long. After you pass it you will end up at a beautiful beach (Tripiti beach) and busy at summer months. The road from Tripiti to Lendas is fabulous. It climbs up at the edge of Asterousia Mountains passing over lots of small and quiet beaches.
Nice road surface, great curves and beautiful scenery. Asterousia Mountains are beautiful, wild and briskly (not sure about my last word “brisklyâ€, I mean with no trees on em).
Really nice curvy route over the wild Asterousia Mountains, with great views of Libyan (Southern Cretan) Sea. Lendas is a small tourist village with great beach. Don't miss the WWII antiaircraft at the centre of Apesokari village (just beside the church).

A fast road leads to the Cape of Sidhero. The scenery is wild but unfortunately you cannot reach the northern part cause of an army base. The base is open for visit only once per year, at 4 of February. Just before Sidhero Cape you can visit the Vai Palm forest. Palm forest is the main attraction of this area, so it's busy due the summer time. If you do not like the noisy places, there is a smaller beach with some palms a bit northern from Vai, call Ermoupoli. In the above map is marked as “Itanosâ€.

This is the main road to Ierapetra. It's a fast road with nice curves but you have to watch out for hazards.
A bumpy small road, with good road surface. Some parts are recently paved but there are some with the old -and no too good- tarmac. Make a stop over the cedar forest and enjoy the view.
Off roaders paradise. A marvelous route with great scenery and some difficult parts for suspension testing ;) There are lots of smaller roads around and there no signs at all. If you think that you are going wrong just ask the sheepherders.
One of the most dangerous roads in whole Crete. The views are spectacular but the small road is really dangerous after Zourva village. There are lots of cars going from Meskla to Zourva taverns and they do not care what is going down the road… Watch out the ships and the animal droppings too.
A great and scary gorge (specialy at night time) leads you up to the historic village of Theriso. There are lot great and usually busy taverns at Theriso.
