BR 163 is one of the most complicated roads I have ridden in Brasil. There are many pot holes and the fog made the visibility less than 50m. People travel extremely fast on this road and there are many trucks.
The trip from Orleans up to uribici is amazing. It is considered one of the funnest roads to ride. The road is extremely inclined with beautiful scenery and many places for motorcycles to stop. The section from Uribici to Serra de corvo branco is amazing, but the road condition is hazardous. Definitely one of the funnest rides in brazil.
The routes from PN Sera Geral and PN Aparados da serra to praia grande are extremely complicated. I only recommend that section for offroad bikes. The road from Cambara do sul to the parks is gravel but very good condition.
The road from SF de Paula to Taquara is one of the nicest I have done since I have done since I have been in Brazil. There are many corners with beautiful scenery. It is part of the Rota Romantica. The scenery is amazing. When I decided to return I took the back road via padilha instead. Again I did not plan this, just let your good sense and spirit guide you.
A very interesting back road route starting in Agudo. I took the back roads to a place called Cascata Raddatz. A beautiful waterfall surronded by tobacco plantations. There a many small germanic villages during this ride.
The boring highway to garibaldi.
Once in garibaldi I took several backroads through the vineyards. There are many small backroads to take you away from the main roads let your sence of adventure guide you.
there are several speed cameras instead of speed humps in the towns
the first section from paraty is quiet good
then it turns into the typical enter a big city traffic
From Campos Do Jordao to Itajuba is a great twisty rd with around 50km of good condition dirt.
from Itajuba to Lorena was a fantastic road with next to no traffic but did have a lot of horse riders on it.
from Lorena to about 40km from Paraty the road was being resurfaced and was a great peice of road.
then came the narly dirt potholes rd that was ok on a chookie
and easy to do if you take your time even on a sports bike you will need to be really gentle
then you arrive down a nice litte section of rd into Paraty
From Ubatua to Taubate was a great enjoyable ride up a mountain
then there was some hwy sections to get to the rd to campos do jordao
From Curitiba to Boituva the PR 476
what a rd fanastic to do it on a sports bike for the first section to
Ribeira then to get on a choocky there are lots of potholes and lose section but still a great rd
then it gets better into Capao Bonito
then it is hwy toll rd motos dont have to pay
a truly great peice of rd
from turn off of SC.407 first 22km tar then goes to country farm grave rd.then from Angelina to to the turn off onto BR282 is great tar lovelly corners.the BR282 is also good yet is a major rd lots of trucks
but still a good rd and a few things to stop and look at.
that at the junction of Alfredo Wagner SC302 is tarred all the way but also has a lot of little villages and towns with traffic but not to much of an issue.on arrival to the Rio Do Sul the BR470 is a major rd with lots of trucks but is a still a nice rd though there seemed to be lots of speed cameras as a forigner im not taking that much regard for them.
then at the turn off for the SC418 Stopped for the night a Pomerode lots of german influence.
