A really nice bit of scenary and a pretty good road that follows the Wye up from the Severn crossing to Monmouth. Easy access from the M48 J2
A good B Road this one, pleasant scenary and an interesting selection of straight/corner combinations. Can be busy at peak times.

This route certainly beats the main road to Dorchester. Leave Sherborne on the A352 to Dorchester. Stay on this road all the way to Charminster then join the A37 for the last couple of miles to Dorchester. Some prefer this route in reverse. There are lots of bends, both fast and slow but they are hard to read. There are one or two open bends where you can see the road layout but most are concealed. Its very hard to get it right. Not much traffic here and no double white lines so easy to make progress.
Head South from Aber (well worth a visit- park on the seafront for free) on the A487 - Some straight stretches, some long bends. This stretch follows the coast with views over Cardigan bay off the cliffs, you can see along the coast for miles. Quite a fast road, plenty of places to overtake. Good road surface. At Synod Inn, take a VERY sharp left, heading along the A486 towards Llandysul. The roads here consist almost completely of bends. After Llandysul, the roads become wider, more places to overtake, faster sweeping bends and excellent rpad surface. Look out for the speed camera just before you join Carmarthen.
