All tar run, not spectacular ridding, but a nice day out. Plenty of spots in Western Creek for breaky and fuel up. Gunnings has a few options for lunch and fuel. Gundaroo is also good with the Cafe doing Pizza, Store doing a wide variety of normal store burgers, fish etc. And of course the pub does some really nice food. If you want a longer more adventurous ride from Gunning head out to Tarago and back via Bungendore. Fuel and pub in Tarago :-)
Good adventure bike run with plenty of gravel road. Normally in pretty good condition. Bungendore Bakery as the starting point does a good pie to start the day, make sure you fill up. There is a pub down in Captains flat, but not much else (no fuel), Majors Creek is a quaint little town pub with plenty of character and a decent feed. Then the back way down into Araluen, I normally do lunch down there, again no fuel. Plenty of camping in the valley if you are so inclined. Good gravel road to the coast (Moruya). If it's a day trip just come back around via Braidwood. Good easy day out on adventure bikes.
Doing this loop clockwise is excellent for beginners as the first sections past the dam include a number of uphill, banked corners that really allow for a developing confidence in riding windy roads.
Anticlockwise is good for advanced riders as the turns become downhill, off-camber turns that provide a challenge.
