23.5 miles. The Sma Glen (on the A822 section) is just a magical place ... stunning scenery. The road itself is a hoot with lots and lots of bends .. plenty of decent straights too. This is a favourite route for local bikers.
If you havn't done it. i can't describe it.
Great biking road which takes you from Blairgowrie over Glenshee and into Royal Deeside. Braemar is a good stopping off point en route. For those who don't want to return via the same route (I think the return journey is even better), the B976/B974 road from Ballater to Fettercairn can be taken which will take you back to Blairgowrie via Kirriemuir.
Beautiful Scottish scenary, great selection of sweepers and climbs and descents. Recommended.
Newtonmore to Laggan section - mixture of all types of corners, needs lot of concentration.
Laggan to Spean Bridge - lovely scenery, lots of fast corners and straight section.
Beware of Johnny Foreigner thought in the summer months. He is quite liable to be all over the road and stopping suddenly to take in the views.
Well worth a stop at Laggan Dam.
