Mechanicsburg to poe valley state park
When you get onto Kettle Rd, has a lot of crazy turns. Then is get straight with some turns. Watch out for horse and buggies!! Then once you get to Spruce Creek, there are some turns in that area. Then you have a nice open ride with farms everywhere until you get to Pine Grove. Then it opens up again to a lot of farms again. When you get to Boalsburg, there are several places to eat either right in town or out on the main highway. Then when coming back, use Rt 45 until you get to Pine Grove and then take Rt 26 up over the mountain and it goes right to Huntingdon, PA. I mess up the once place after coming down the mountain. Just stay on Rt26. If you want to head out to Rt22 on the on the west side of Huntingdon you can go onto Rt 305 and it takes you through Petersburg onto Alexandria right out to Rt 22. If you need some gas take the other way to go to Sheetz or other gas stations in Huntingdon.
This trip starts and ends at the cemetery at SR 350 and SR 3036, is mostly rural roads with only 22 miles of interstate driving.

NSBP Nat Scenic By Way Prgm labels this road High Plateau Scenic By Way. PA State list it as PA Wilds Elk Scenic Route. Start Snow Shoe and end at Hyner View Overlook. At the overlook your bound to find Hang Gliders flying and launching off the Mtn. 144 N to Renovo 120 East to Hyner State Park road a couple miles east of Renovo. Then Right at Hyner View Rd. 50 miles total trip. No gas till Reno Ride through the Beech Creek water shed & Sproul State Forrest. This road was beautiful Appalachia Mtn road but the heavy trucks on the Marcelas Shale has done damage to about a third of the surface. Saw a couple juvinile turkey vultures, a dead wild turkey, and a red tail hawk. No elk for this rider uSunday has little to no traffic. This is a cruising road not racing road. Enjoy. I did.
