first part of the route is alot of big sweeping smooth corners. last half has places to stop for food and some good scenery as you come back over the bridge
the route has some decent corners. its the most direct non straight road routes to old Maple Hill road. arguably one of the best roads in the area which isn't saying much because the area is very flat and bland. Be careful during and after heavy rain storms, old Maple tends to flood.
Road it a couple times nice corners not to many of them. Not the best roads the whole way. I love riding this route it's beautiful quiet and I have yet to see any cops out there.
Great run through country roads, wide open double lanes. Watch out for tourists in the summer.
just a simple scoot about through town and country
Topsail Island has everything you need for the first half of this ride. Stop at Buddys Crab House and Oyster bar near the pier in Surf City. Lots of great East Coast Seafood in Surf City. Really good vibe and youre sure to run into other riders along the way. Put some gas before you leave Surf City. Theres a good 20 mile stretch before you get to Haws Run road. Not many places to pull over along the way. They have 2 convenience stores on that corner to get something to snack on and walk around a bit before you get to the curvy portion of the ride. You can fill up in Chinquapin and there are a few eateries there but you wanna save your appetite for Thigs BBQ on Rte 111. A few miles past Ellis airport on your left hand side. Realy good East North Carolina style BBQ joint.
not the best road, but something is better than nothing
Beautiful ride, beach, historic sites, ferries
