I just rode this 2 weeks ago for the first time in a few years, and it was better - by my standards - than I remembered it. Its a pretty technical road passing over the undulations that are the California coast range. Lots of short sight-lines and uneven pavement. Very little traffic and almost no police presence make this a real playground. If you like your roads goaty, this is a great one for you. If you continue towards the coast from Comptche, the road becomes higher quality, and maybe even more fun!
The Orr Springs road has many twists and turns and can be used to join up with lots of other fun motorcycling roads in this area going from nowhere particularly to nowhere particularly but which are great fun!
