This route is usually the stage for the car rally named 'Rampa de Murça' which stands for 'Murças Shakedown' and its filled with good curves, whether you choose to do it downward or upward. My suggestion: do it both!
Good winding road, with bends for all tastes and a couple of town crossings with cobbler section. All the rest, great tarmac! To continue on N16, turn left at the end of this portion.
Best section of N16! Along the river first, then climbing the hill. Although the river crossing bridge is on the N16 one has to yield way to enter and leave the bridge. All the rest of the route is twisting and bending without major obstacles
This trip is made of two distinct parts. One is levelled with the river, is fast with open bends with good visibility and only a couple of hazardous intersections; and a mountain section with corners for all tastes going up and down. Average quality of tarmac and stunning views. I have done it during the time of harvest and wine making, so extra slow lory traffic. Strongly recommend. For sight seeing cruises and thrill seekers riders.
