Excellent road with tight curves that was recently paved and follows up the river Mondego. when they reach Penacova you can enjoy a great meal at Restaurant "O Cotâ". It's only 20 kms and has 365 curves!
its a good road for RR bikes because have a fast corners, carefful whith police and not protect rails.
with rains some mud can be appear in the road.
reduce speed in the village
Can a road have too many corners? At about halfway along this route I found myself asking this. This surely must be one of the twistiest roads in Spain (and probably Europe). The surface is good but in places, the visibility is very bad, especially at dusk, when I rode, the sun was so strong that I could hardly get a move on :-) Additionally there are a lot of blind brows and no road markings to let you know whats coming up. Still enjoyable due to the concentration of corners, but care should be taken
One of the nicest routes around with plenty of very sharp corners,
this route is better taken from the crossing with IC3 since
it only gets interesting from there.
A new road to Sertã means this is now a very abandoned road,
which is good because there is very light traffic,
but bad because the surface is dirtier.
