Mt Graham AZ366

AZ - Graham/Greenlee/Coch... > Arizona > United States > America
December 25, 2017 - 5 star route rating Motorcycle Road5.0

AZ 366 Is a hidden gem south of the grand 191 (Devil's Highway).
It's spectacularly beautiful and takes you to a high elevation. Corners are often tight and there are several sets of switchbacks one needs to be ready for.
Beyond the end point the road becomes unpaved. During good weather, with proper bikes, You are welcome to continue on and enjoy further.
US Forestry service people are typically there, but they are quite friendly.
It's much more technical than fast. Enjoy!

Angeles Crest Highway : Glendale

CA - San Luis Obispo/Kern... > California > United States > America
June 8, 2012 - 5 star route rating Motorcycle Road5.0

I cant believe Im the first to review this spectacular SoCal road! This road is one of the main reasons why motorcyclist love SoCal!

Angeles Crest (Hwy 2) begins just north of the 210. Most riders gas up at the nearby station and get ready for an E ticket ride.

On weekends cops and squids are all over the place. The best times to run this are on the weekdays.

During winter it can get quite chilly even when its warm in the city. Bring an extra layer and some warm gloves.

Also during winter, they dump volcanic rock on the roads to keep the snow and ice in check. The edges can retain the gravel for a long time.

Otherwise, during the week, there are still cops, but dont make a complete arse or show of yourself and theyll leave you alone.

Be sure to also stop by Newcombs Ranch for an awesome meal.

This is not a road for beginners. Even experienced riders crash here. Take it easy the first time.

There are lots of fun off shoots too! Just a few are Angeles Forest and Big & Little Tujunga.

Plan most of one day for this one.

Old Topanga Road : Red Rock Canyon Park

CA - San Luis Obispo/Kern... > California > United States > America
June 8, 2012 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

I really enjoy Old Topanga Canyon. Its not terribly fast but it is quite enjoyable and worth the trip. I really like to do a run starting on Topanga Canyon coming from Ventura Blvd. Once I reach Old Topanga I make a right and take it back up to Mulholland. From there, dozens of great riding adventures await.

Encinal Canyon Road

CA - San Luis Obispo/Kern... > California > United States > America
June 8, 2012 - 5 star route rating Motorcycle Road5.0

What this road lacks in sharp corners it makes up for in spectacular scenery. Several different times I felt I was transported to Italy. The vistas of the sea are equally spectacular. This is a super nice comedown after hitting some of the more technical roads in the area. Have your camera ready because you will want some pictures!

Yerba Buena Road

CA - San Luis Obispo/Kern... > California > United States > America
May 23, 2012 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Yerba Buena road is easily reachable from PCH. Its past Mulholland in Ventura County.

This road is a Butler G1 road. At the end, you can opt to run the Snake at Mulholland, come down Decker Cyn, or go to Westlake blvd and then the 101 fwy.

Fun ride with straightaways, long curves, mountain twisties, beautiful vistas, and a biker/rider friendly ghost town. This route includes the nearby Tuzigoot National Park. Bring a camera and mount one one your bike. Jerome is a hoot! Check out the Haunted Hamburger Cafe. Prescott is a delightful small town, once the territorial capital of Arizona.
