Great switchbacks and spectacular views.
Hells Canyon route! Great ride if you want endless twisties! You are in the bush,so not a lot to look at until you get to the overlook, but you best be watching the road anyway! Some very long stretches of very sharp stuff! Ton's of fun! Stop at the overlook for sure! I find the locals are good at waving you around as there are not many places to pass. Makes a great route from S Idaho up to Lewiston!
Truly one of my favorite rides anywhere in the US - especially the stretch of road between Cambridge, ID and Halfway, OR
BEAUTIFUL SWEEPING TURNS, without many cars on the road the Tuesday after Labor Day 2019
Lovely road, lovely curves ... and great food the Main Street restaurant in Halfway. Prob took 2.5 hours of riding from McCall to Baker City. Left at 9:15am with the sun at our back for most of the ride. Just terrific. No surprises. Honest road.
Very nice twisty canyon section
Avoiding Interstate 5 Southbound from Tacoma to Vancouver Nice peaceful windy curvy country road ...lovely views with a good stop Alder Lake Elbe has a nice Caboose restaurant with rooms in boxcars for overnighting. Food was surprisingly terrific with attentive service. Suggest the Elk burger...outstanding!
The Hoons ride to the coast and back for lunch. A few Roads are pretty bumpy and ruff. There is a section of about 5/8 of a mile that is gravel. But very do-able on even sports bikes. The Scooner in Netarts is a great place to grab food for lunch or dinner. All in all a very fun ride that has great twisty bits.
Once you leave Seneca and get on NF 16 until John Day Hwy it is very remote. We traveled it all day and never saw another vehicle. You can see lots of wildlife. Last 7 miles on NF 16 (E. Camp Creek Rd, near Unity) is good graded gravel, rest of route is all paved. Watch out for livestock and deer on roads. On US 26 you will experience more traffic. Lots of camping opportunities.
