N8 : Aubagne - Ollioules

Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Az... > France > Europe
March 20, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

The route of my youth, a great favorite of mine. From Aubagne you climb the col de l'ange, some nice twisties on the up and on the down on the other side. A short straight bring you to Cuges-Les-Pins, a charming provence village. From then you climb again with big long sweepers all the way to le-Camp-du-Castellet. Two really long straights later you are at the entrance of the Paul Ricard race track, ready to go down to Le Beausset via some really nice bends. Watch out on the way down as some of the turns are nasty and did claim the life of too many bikers. Don't forget to stop to admire the view of the coast. After Le Beausset a long boring straight brings you to St-Anne-d'Evenos. Right after you enter the Ollioules georges, a canyon like road with small twists in all directions which conclude the journey. Like most of the interesting roads on the cote d'Azur, avoid like the plague in July and August. It is crowded with tourists driving at 50 km/h, as well as too many caravans and other camping cars.
