A high, remote, wild, narrow, slippery pass through the Parc Mercantour that is great fun! Little traffic, lots of scenery, lots of entertainment. In places it feels like a paved motocross track! Don't screw up!
The scenery is grand, an there is a delightful restaurant above Entraunes that is worth a stop, even if only for a coffee.
At the northern end is the town of Barcelonette, a very sporty town with a strong Mexican (yes, that's right) flavor. Nice inns and restaurants and lots to do. Also with quick access to the Col d'Allos, Col de Vars, and the Col de la Bonette.
If you turn on to the D35 from the D80 youll be disappointed at first but if you persevere youlll find a well surfaced road which is much more free from tourist traffic than other roads on the cape. The corners flow nicely and although visibility is limited the corners are predictable and without all the sheer drops of the coastal road.
Alternative to the coast road. Only downside is the boring part after the section highlighted to get to Calvi itself, but the first part is worth it
A nice little ride for the last part of the western Cap Corse. The port of Centuri is a lovely place, perfect to stop for lunch and stuff your face with lobster. Worth the ride!
Many breathtaking cliff views of the sea and the cliffs on the west side of cape corse. Surface is mostly good, visibility limited but corners very predictable enjoyable. The occasional hire car emerging from blind corners on your side can keep you focused!
