Great ride
Breath-taking rock formations and the best roads in this part of the US. This 280 mile route takes in some of the best roads in the southwest United States and offers a great variety in terms of road types all set to a spectacular Utah Mountain backdrop. We start at Cedar City and head east crossing the Dixie National forest on State Highway 14 which tightly twists its way past Blowhard Mountain, Gooseberry point and Lake Navajo before joining US89 North to Hatch. From there we get on the on State Highway 12 ‘The Escalante Staircase’, arguably the best motorcycle road in the southwest USA and head east. This a great and diverse stretch that includes sections of densely forested hills, desert and mountains. Towards Torrey it is simply breathtaking, and if you don’t mind a little bit of bad roads, you can turn right at Boulder and tackle as much of the famous Burr trail as you feel comfortable (mostly paved road but a short section the joins the west side to the east, in the middle is light gravel) From Torrey, head east towards Hanksville and this route passes through Capitol Reef, and the scenery is absolutely amazing.
Yet another lovely Utah mountain road, you are really are spoilt for choice around here.
Nice curvy quiet mountain road popular for camping
From the fork of the 276 south to the Natural Bridges Monument this road contains a mix of all the best things that a bike could want. Many consecutive great curves on a good surface, beautiful scenery and it goes on for miles. Really Excellent
Great scenery, selection of sweeping curves and little traffic make this a very nice stretch
