This route was created on the recommendations someone who has lived in Dorset for 30 years based on what a great ride should be. It has lots for everyone. There are picturesque villages scattered through the first 40 miles with stunning views across the Dorset Downs as the road climbs up towards Bulbarrow Hill. There's every bend imaginable from 1st gear hairpins to super fast sweeping curves. Scattered along the way are quite a few straights where you can really open her up. I've ridden this several times now and never seen anything of the boys in blue. At the end you can treat yourself at the cafe in Long Street where they make real Italian gelato on the premises that are to die for. No better way to spend half a day!
This route took us around the Isle of Wight for a day seeing most of the nice coast line. Stop in Ryde for a decent breakfast and have a chilled ride around this lovely island
