Leave the busy town of Estella and quickly get on the traffic free NA 120. The road starts to rise into the mountains,allowing a fast pace, and the bends arrive at a rate to keep you concentrating. The view gets better as you climb and then becomes spectacular as you pass through a short tunnel to reveal a dramatic escarpment and valley below. Just after the tunnel is a small layby with a monument opposite with steps to a platform. From here you get a great view and continuous passage of Buzzards riding the thermals as close to you that you can hear the wind on their wings. The road down into the valley again entertains with a variety of hairpins. The Basque town at the finnish is daubed with slogans but you can get a good coffee but you may feel the need to move on!
