A696 : Ponteland - Otterburn

North East England > United Kingdom > Europe

From Ponteland to Otterburn there are some good fast straights, open bends and twisty hairpins. also makes a nice gateway route for those travelling to Scotland from the south (i.e. motorway alternative)

B5289 : Keswick - Cockermouth

North West England > United Kingdom > Europe

A great scenic route, through Cumbria, ignore the two points on the image, I was having some problems getting the image to display correctly. The actual route does a circuit from Keswick, down to Grange, Buttermere and up to Cockermouth, it's a much lengthier and more interesting alternative to the A66. Enjoy!

A6 : Kendal - Penrith

North West England > United Kingdom > Europe

An interesting selection of high and medium speed corners with a few straights to get some speed up. This road twists around the northbound M6 and can be followed on a straighter section up to Carlisle (Although I personally find it more interesting on the Kendal/Clifton stretch)

Wrynose Pass / Hardknott Pass : Eskdale Green - Little Langdale

North West England > United Kingdom > Europe

I've riden this section both on the bike and in a car. Its quite a tight, twisty and undulating piece of road. The surface is in good condition but there are a lot of bobbles in the road, these are more due to the type of countryside it runs through than the surface being neglected. It runs through some nice scenery but the road demands your attenion so you dont get a lot of time to take it all in. During periods of rain it can get very slippery in places as some sections run under a shroud of trees and there are places where fallen leaves can cover the road.
