The very famous Grimselpass, a stunning combination of breathtaking mountain drop-offs and wonderful super tight corners. This road tops out at over 2000 metres and so can experience some snow. Simply terrific, highly recommended, even though it is very popular with other bikers.
Simply a brilliant biking road. Absolutely one of the must-dos of the Swiss alps. And when youre at it you should of course combine it with some of the other brilliant near-by Swiss passes: Sustenpass (2224m), Furkapass (2431m), Grimselpass (2165m), then Nufenenpass (2471m), St. Gotthard Pass(2108m), Oberalppass (2044m) & Lukmanierpass (1914m). Ride carefully - but have fun...! :o)
An Absolutely staggering mountain road through the Austrian Alps. Worthy competition to anything that Switzerland can provide. The bikers meeting point at the top is at 8400 feet altitude. Beware for the 18 Euro toll though. Worth every penny in my book. There is a turn off three quarters of the way along that leads up an even more impressive road to a glacier, or whats left of the glacier. Still my favourite road in the Alps thus far. Just watch brake fade and make sure your camera batteries are charged.
