"ridden this route a few times this year always ride from penrith end for some reason just like the up hill hairpins i guess the cafe at the top is very good (bike friendly) after this it is quite a bit faster usually turn toward brough in alston then end up in hawes a very good ride " See More ...

"have used this route quite a few times and always enjoy it but there are one or two sharpe corners on elevation changes so be aware i have also seen cops not in cars but stood at the side of the road presume a car was hidden somewhere near by only saw her at last minuet but slowed enough this was on a weekend though may be safer mid week" See More ...

"11 july 2008 rode it both ways, weather great, lucky for me i can ride mid week so very few tourists. what a ride, three of us rode that day not one cop to be seen,long very fast straights open corners (apart from hole of horcum) more interesting nearer to Pickering but very good fun all the way wwould recomend this ride to most people may not be technical enough for the very good/fast riders though." "Done this route many times, bad in the rain tho around the north part of loch lomond near ardlui, road surface not the best. Once past there though, pretty awesome. Riding through Glencoe is a must, stay on A82 after fort william and take A87 to Kyle of Lochalsh which is up there as one of the best in europe!" See More ...
