SP32 : Grinzane Cavour - Serravalle Langhe (Italy)

A nice ride through the scenic wine-growing Langhe region of Southern Piedmont. The hilly terrain dotted with vineyards, is better suited for leisurely sightseeing rather than serious sport biking. Watch for farm machinery during the harvest season. The area is know for its wine as well as white truffles which come into season in September. I picked the SP32 to highlight, but the entire area is very scenic with several Michelin-starred restaurants. Very little tourist traffic when compared to Tuscany.

SP100 : Tortona - Caldirola (Italy)

Nothing too challenging, but a pleasant road with sweeping curves through the valleys and foothills of Southern Piedmont. The road dead ends at the town of Caldirola.

SS456 : Acqui Terme - Ovada (Italy)

Short but sweet. Nothing too challenging, but an enjoyable, curvy road.

VA 9 / WV 9 : Paeonian Springs - Paw Paw (United States)

I only sampled the western most portion from Berkely Springs to Woodrow, but it was great. The curves become progressively tighter as you approach Woodrow.

VA 16 / WV 16 : Mouth of Wilson (VA) - Sophia (WV) (United States)

I only took the southern portion from Tazewell into North Carolina, but it was exceptional. Portions were freshly paved when I was on it in September 2011. Lots of nice third gear curves with a few tight, second gear corners thrown in.
