Great ride to give the gearbox a workout. Plenty of corners to link together both tightening and opening out. Really nice and scenic long section that includes a whole variety of nice corners and straights along its length. The surrounding (mostly a National Park) is really good. As it is a main route, it can have quite heavy traffic.

Good left/right cambered uphill combination near the start and finishes with a great combination of downhill, ever tightening series of bends, Watch out for the wooded section where the final bend is a sharp left 'nip' downhill with a road grate on...

A high speed section with quite a few straights and some nice high speed corners. As this is main road, there's not much room for error (run off) available on the corners, so be careful

Fed up of taking the M8 (hateful road) between Edinburgh and Glasgow? Try this instead. Carluke to Glasgow is orrible, but the section between Balerno and Carluke makes up for it. Some nice bends as you come out of Balerno, but speed limit stays at 40.

Fast section running alongside the Clyde. A lot of fast straights with some good corners to keep your interest up. Can be some traffic heading for the motorway, but it is mostly still good.

A71 a decent alternative to using the M8. Mostly 60mph limits through farming country, some speed limits at Livingston and Newmains, not a day out but good to use instead of the M8. Never seen any police and not much in the way of tractors etc.

Did this run after a couple of days off-roading in the Forest on my way back to the M6. A real joy, good scenery, great bends and the road surface was mostly OK. Little or no traffic and a million times better than the boring A75!

This road has something for everyone. At the Newton Stewart end there are some pretty fast straights and nice sweeping bends. Watch out for deer on this stretch though. Get yourself to Kielder, don't stop at the shops at main attractions its to expensive instead go to the small garage at the end of Castle Drive and fill up and grab a cuppa, head for Saughtree and through Castleton when you get to the village of Newcastleton halfway through the village turn right on...

this is a great road....the back roads from annan to dumfries have been used for high spedd fun for many a year.
started in a car and love it now on a motorbike, there is everything you will ever need for an exciting 12 or so miles.

"The Muirkirk Road" Starts off at the staggered junction in Strathaven onto very fast straight then a slowish left over a raised bridge.... and from there the fun doesn't stop. Route following the coast road from Port Seaton to North Berwick then up to Drem and back to Port Seaton. Some great bends particularly on the coastal road. Be careful on the rural roads at certain times of the year as the farmers tend to leave mud on the roads when they exit the fields.
