Although titled Mississippi..., the starting point is in the glacially carved St. Croix Valley above its confluence with the Mississippi. One follows either side of the river valley to the point where the St. Croix merges with the Mississippi on the Minn./Wisc. border.
Beautiful WI twisties. When county road A is not under construction take 10 out of Ellsworth to Cty Rd A south to 35 then take Cty Rd S north to Plum City and then continue this route on U out of Plum City.
Thru farmland (mostly pasture and lots of horses), some woods, and winding around lots of Minnesota lakes. Several interesting Swedish Heritage and historical museums in and around Scandia. Best of all, it ends at Dennis Kirk bike supply in Rush City.
Enter route description..great river road from cottage grove mn to debuque Iowa. Best of the northern part of the river road. Can make it in one day but should do two days to enjoy it. Many curves lots of scenery .

kathryn rd MN - Sherburne/Isanti/Chi..., United States November 6, 2013 - 3.0
It\'s a nice river valley road. Thor\'s in Ft Ransom is a good place for a burger, Sheyenne saloon in Kathryn is a nice stop and Boomers korner keg in Valley City is a good old fashioned biker bar. If you don\'t mind gravel roads take the river road from Kathryn to Ft Ransom.
You will love CR 40 out of chatfield to Hwy 30,, to Rushford and get ready for maybe the best road in SE MN out of Rushford,, Cty RD 25 just north of Rushford.. Several great places for food and drink along the way.
This is a long ride, Break it up or do it all.. a lot of great laces to stop for food and a beverage. Stop in Plum city and see the trout, and get ready for great twisties S. on U, UU, SS,, you will love it.
Take back roads through Scandia, MN to Osceola, WI and on to Star Prairie, WI. Then take roller-coaster WI-65 north to US 8. Head north to Luck on WI 46 and then back roads west to the St Croix river. Stop at the Wolf Creek Bar and Grill before following scenic River Road to St Croix Falls. Head bac...
From Wabasha to Mazeppa; a nice ride up and down some fun hills. They aren't mountains, but about as good as I've seen in MN. Roads are pretty clean and safe. You will pass by Meadow Valley and Spring Creek Motocross tracks. If you're in the area, it's a good road to check out.
One of my favorite rides in the area. The route is in a river valley with the river viewable several times. There are trees on both sides of the road for a lot of the route. About half way through the route is the historical Harkin Store, a state historical site. You will usually meet other bikers r...
My favorite ride in the area.
Popular motorcycle ride for the locals.
It's part of a scenic by-way. Don't let "minimum maintenance road" scare you.
It's a nicely paved road. Lots of beautiful scenery, canopied trees,
curves, rolling hills, etc.
The speed limit is 35-45 for a lot of th...
