D21 / D8 : Bergerac - Perigueux (France)November 7, 2007This route is an alternative to using the busy N21 for Bergerac to Perigueux. Approximately 2km north of Bergerac bear right onto the D21 signed for Vergt. The road from this junction is really quiet wide and smooth. The road follow a river for most of the route and twists and turns with it the first 30k is fast and open until Vergt. Once through the town of Vergt the road becomes more twisty with tighter corners and less in the way of straights. There are a number of small villages with roadside cafes, Vergt has all the ususal shops and eating establishments you might need. D2 / D22 : Pontivy - Plouay - Quimperle (France)October 28, 2007Rural France at its best. Quiet well surfaced roads, interesting villages and some enthusiastic local bikers. Plenty of variation from long open sweepers to tight esses in a river valley. Many small roadside cafes to choose from. fast or slow a good alternative to the major roads. D902 / D947 / D205T : Guillestre - Saint-Véran ( Col d'Agnel ) (France)October 28, 2007Ive ridden this route from Italy into France. Its good but the surface is very iffy in places though they were working on the Italian side in 2006 when we rode it. D186 : Guillestre - Risoul (France)October 28, 2007Had a free hour waiting for my mates to get ready to do a loop into Italy from Guilestre so rode up and down this route a couple of times. The lower section has moe varied radius corners and the upper section long high speed straight/sweepers. Exellent fun. A470 : Conway - Blaenau Ffestiniog (United Kingdom)July 15, 2005Climbing all the way from the coat to Blaenau Ffestiniog in the slate quarry region of Snowdonia. The early sections are faster with less demanding corners. Once you have crossed the A5 the road becomes twistier and more demanding. The views are quite spectacular in places. Can be busy in summer. |
