D516 : Bayeaux - Arromanches-Les-Bains (France)January 18, 2008I have toured Normandy for a number of years and I thought it may be of interest to anyone wanting to go to Arromanches, the home of the Mulberry Harbour. The route is from Bayaeux to a local bed and breakfast I use. I nice little route to keep you awake after a long trip or after a day sight seeing A483 : Llandrindod Wells - Newtown (United Kingdom)June 23, 2007I came across his road a few years ago, jus by looking at a map of Mid Wales, and it just said, please ride me. It was just like a scwiggle on the map. Having ridden it several times, I prefer the route to Newtown, however the route from Newton is growing on me. I use it for advanced training, getting riders to look ahead and plan the ride. On this road there are a variety of bends, tight and some great long open ones, where you can play with the throttle, get the back tyre to bite OH! enjot yourself. Word of warning though, iy can be a popular route so watch out for bikes coming the other way. I wil have a word withthe forum master and see if he will link some video footage I have. B6047 : Market Harborough - Melton Mowbray (United Kingdom)June 9, 2007Came across this route on Saturday 2.6.27 and travelled from A47 south to Market Harborough. I had no idea where I was as I was out with a client. She chose the road well, a demanding rewarding road, especially for my Advanced training. Smooth road surface and enough hazards to keep you thinking. Nothing demanding, if you ride on what you can see. Video to follow.... A57 : Glossop - Sheffield (United Kingdom)May 23, 2007Sorry to disappoint everyone, but this is only my opinion. I use the road for Advanced training and noticed last yeat that the road was breaking up in places and there were temporary 50mph signs everywhere. In April this year 2007 the road is still poor in places, hence I feel that is why ther is the a permanent 50 mph limit along the majority of the pass. It is cheaper than repairing the tarmac..... It spoils it by taking that 10 mph off you get caught in amongst the cars. Will keep you posted, |
