3 Countries (Aachen to Gravenvoeren via Epen and Norbeek) (Germany)

When you leave Aachen, take for Vaals, and immediately LEFT direction Epen, Norbeek; you're now on a nice country road,running through a forest that sometimes leaves space to a beautiful panorama on the surrounding fields. When you get in Norbeek, take Voerenstraat to 's Gravenvoeren, a small path (not if you're riding a Goldwing!)of gravel for 800m. The road overall is not so wide, so not for the best terrain for latest superbike missile, but beautiful scenary and the absence of trafic make it great for cruising around and opening the gas once in a while in the twisties ;-) Attention in the weekends for the many senior cyclists coming down here!

Just a small taste of 2300m of altitude...Of course if your appetite grows, continue towards Barcelonnette and Guillaumes, to add to your collection the col of Izoard, Vars, Cayolle; all giants over 2000m with beautiful roads and breathtaking scenaries over the Alps. Perfect in summer to find relief from the heat, with temperatures ranging from 20 to 25°C. The whole ride to Guillaumes is about 160Km

Pure hillclimbing libido: a "must" for all the locals! Beginning from the age of 14 with a "tuned" Vespa 50cc. until adulthood with a ZRX it always gave me an infinite pleasure! Don't forget to read the graffitis on the walls and look at the vineyards and the lake when you come down! Avoid Saturday afternoon when the local bored cops come up to see who's racing...
