N85 : Grenoble - Castellane - Grasse - Cannes ( Route Napoleon ) (France)April 28, 2009I used to stay in Castellane evry summer but have moved to Forcalquier (04). There some real good biking roads around the whole region. One of the options is to head for Barcelonette and you can loop the trip in a day (long day...)and end back in Castellane without every going over the same piece of tarmac. Ten Mile Bank (Littleport to Denver ) (United Kingdom)March 20, 2009This is an interesting little road that follows the canal/dyke between Littleport and Denver which I use to change from the boredom of the A10. As you ride towards the roundabout of the A10 towards the A1101, there is a left hand turn just before the roundabout which is the start of the Ten Mile Bank. It is mainly single track and because it is on the Fenns the tarmac undulates in all directions creating ridges with cambers and counter cambers. There is not that much traffic on it but what there is is mainly agricultural so quite a varied selection and size of earth, stones, mud can be found on it. It has a couple of hump back bridges with blind crests and blind corners, one of which if you miss there is a good chance of getting rather wet ;o). The road will test every element of your suspension, sense of balance and bike control. When you get to the other end you will be glad to get back on the A10. Thoroughly enjoyed it and went along it on the way back home in the dark just for the fun. B2042 : Four Elms - Sevenoaks (United Kingdom)January 23, 2009Nice road with few villages on the way so there is plenty of time to enjoy the sweeping and some of the sharper bends. Rode route on Buell Xb12X with a Suzuki GSxr 750 and Honda CBR 600. B2026 : Westerham - Edenbridge (United Kingdom)January 23, 2009Nice road with few villages on the way so there is plenty of time to enjoy the sweeping and some of the sharper bends. Rode route on Buell Xb12X with a Suzuki GSxr 750 and Honda CBR 600. D63 : Revest du Bion - Sederon ( Col de L'Homme Mort ) (France)February 20, 2008This is a great road for trailies or supermotos (I did it on a Buell XB12X) due to the road surface as you climb into the mountains and the very tight and twisty hairpins. As you leave Revest stay on the D950 till you get to Haut Labouret. Come off at Haut Labouret and take the D518 for Ferrassieres. When you get into Ferrassieres take a right hand turn heading for the col de Lhomme Mort (translates as the col of the dead man!!. Carry on the mountain pass till you get to a T junction and bear right onto the D542 and head for Sederon. |
