More words needed to describe this section! No wonder BIKE magazine use most of it as part of their 440 Test Route! You can use this road to set your suspension up, find the sweet spot in your bikes powerband, push your tyres to the limit, practice your braking and powers of aviation! All in all a very nice ride out. We ride it in the evening from Harrogate (i.e.south to north-ish) but the sun can be quite low in the sky then so vision can be impaired. Two very tight left handers this way round, right handers coming back! Be careful. Cow shit can be a problem, as well as mud, and tractors and hay carts and combines - also damp patches can linger under the many trees - remember! Treat it right and you will get a superb ride - treat it lightly and you will die!

the only bad thing about this is a bridge. its a humped back one and u cant see over other side i had to slam on not to get hit. fortunately i was at the side near to wall. The road going to hawes is aloso fantastic and has beautiful waterfalls at aysgarth.

Pete's right about this one. Its a hell of a road, but it can bite back. Trees, walls and quarry wagons are unforgiving. The humpbacked bridge is just north of East Whitton.

Cracking road this one, it's very popular in the summer months and can be well policed at the Hawes end.
