From Axat the road passes through some spectacular gorges then follows the bottom of the valley with tight right hand bends and fairly open left hand bends, the surface is fairly bumpy so if ridden quickly makes it quite challenging. Keep an eye open for a petrol station on the left after about 20km...

There can be a lot of tourists here but if you carry on most traffic dissapears and you are in a stunning valley, with a very winding road all the way to Rennes Les Bain...

Portion 1 : Bram/col de la Montagne Noire. Très petites routes à une seule voie. Présence de boue et de gravillons. Pas de visibilté mais très belle campagne. Portion 2 : col de la Montagne Noire/Mazamet. Route neuve !!! Virolos absolument supers. Une trentaine de kilomètres sous les arbres...
