When you leave Aachen, take for Vaals, and immediately LEFT direction Epen, Norbeek; you're now on a nice country road, running through a forest that sometimes leaves space to a beautiful panorama on the surrounding fields.
When you get in Norbeek, take Voerenstraat to 's Gravenvoeren, a small path ...
Dispelling the myth that Belgian roads are pants! This route begins in the Village of La Gleize which is famous for its King Tiger tank outside the WW2 museum. Mainly the surface is very good, the bends are very much 3-4th gear stuff rolling on and off the throttle and properly concentrating. At lea...
Scenes of some of the heaviest fighting in the Battle of Bulge with both La Roche and Bastogne being flattened. Do not miss the Mardason memorial just east of Bastogne. Cheapest fuel in Europe on the Luxembourg border. Terrific riding on some brilliant terrain.
A weird road that is somehow great fun but strangely complicated at the same time. There is a good surface, quite good visibility and sections which are completely one way making hazards minimal, and yet there are all kinds of markings to follow and changes in width. A very fun road if you learn whi...
This was a route a friend and I stumblled across whilst in Belgium/France for the weekend. The route starts with fairly long straight sections through the countryside with nice open fast corners, but as you approach Saint-Omer you go into a forest and roads become a bit more twisty. So the route ...
Mettet hosted world championship F750 racing with Sheene and Roberts etc competing, the road track and pits is still there to explore. A fabulous cross country route taking you to Spa Francorchamps, the modern home of Belgiums F1 race.
see two of the most charming villages of belgium , Chassepierre and Saint Cecile. Chassepierre is host to one of the biggest street festivals in Europe each year, check it out! classic sweepers towards herbeumont. if you dont want a roundtrip you can continue to Bouillon medieval city along the river...
If you stay \'sur la continent\' on your first nights stay and want a full days ride across to Spa Francorchamps and onto the German border, this is a goodie, the first bit down to Beaumont is almost arrow straight but its getting you where you need to be!
first section from Habay through truly stunning forest, the oldest in Belgium. then on to faster, wider, roads up to St Hubert. back in the forest from there to Fourneau St Michel, an open air museum and must see attraction in Wallonia! along the way you can stop and visit a game park...deer, boars ...
I really liked this short section when I rode it. There is a great combination of open right angled turns with mostly open visibility and some great little straights in the middle to blat between them, not very long, but fun nonetheless
This is a regular route from the exit of The Shuttle to Lauwe for an annual BBQ. The town of Cassel is a good place to stop. Lots of nice Biker friendly cafes in the main street. Be aware that the village roads are cobble stones so a bit slippery when wet.
almost endless succession of technical twisties. Truly great fun, but pretty challenging and infamous for motorcycle crashes. Be safe but have fun!
Just follow the flow of the Molignee and the railroad track from anhee to Mettet
This is a route good route with plenty of good bends and straights for a good varied journey. There is section of downhill, wide, but quite tight bends with dodgy looking surface, which I reckon would be scary in the wet. Despite this the whole route is a blast and good for fast entertaining progres...
Long flat open sections with some hazards (junctions, etc) with some interesting-ish high speed sections, this route is only really noteworthy as there seems to a famine of decent roads in this part of Belgium.
Long straight rural sections to get a bit of speed up
and a few nice medium speed corners thrown in. Note that the film shows lots of parked cars lining the road, this is exceptional as the film was made on the weekend of the Condroz Rally.
There wouldn't normally be any.
Sections that include combinations of open higher speed corners and long clear straights, take care in the villages. Film shows lots of parked cars for the Condroz rally, this is not representative of normal traffic levels which are much lower
I didnt have time to explore the complete section of this route as I was pasing through on the way to somewhere else, however this short section contained some nice corners and was flat with quite good visibility and a good surface.
A weirdly and strangely addictive fast urban section with a good surface although there are obviously plenty of hazards. If tackled at a quiet time of day (sunday afternoon was when we rode it) It can be quite good.
This is a really enjoyable, quiet piece of road with little in the way of hazards and plenty of enjoyable bends of varying tightness. There are some bits of over banding and some gravel, though overall a really good bit of road.
(Admin: Comment moved from another route)
I have only ridden the Salm Chateau - Banneu - Vielsalm section of this.
Some nice open corners with good visibility. Some discrepencies in the road and some obstructions that prevent overtaking, but nothing serious, still pretty good. GPS co-ords for this...
A good selection of sweeping a very tight corners enable you to practice your skills a bit. Typically Ardennes in that it may be a bt rough and a little bumpy for very hard suspension, but otherwise good.
A nice flowing section of road through the forest with open and visible corners and good surface, biggest drawback is the solid white lines through most of it, but still great at times when there are not many people around.
Plenty of long flowing bends runnig along by the river. Mostly good surface and some lane
widening to make passing easier. A bit congested in places during the good weather. Dinant a great place for bikers.
Good if a bit tricky, there are a couple of downhill blind decreasing radius turns in quick succession that could easily have you off when you don't know they coming and a rather poorly visible crossroads crossing the route that comes up suddenly so be careful. Suggest you ride it once first to fami...
A short but sweet 10k selection of downhill even but mostly blind corners. Good if you dare to go fast in such a blind place. Watch out for the cement works deposits on road at the end, could be nasty.
Additionally, there's a proper friendly biker cafe nearby at N50.52216 E5.41926, good for a c...
This route mostly excists out of back roads but in good shape, it's really a route for cruising. On the helchterse/peersedijk you can really enjoy the eveningsun in the summer above the farms and in kleine brogel it can happen that you come across some flying/landing F-16's right above youre head...
Nice winding rural road through Wallonia. Pleasant surroundings and easy flowing corners and quaint villages. We were a bit unlucky to get caught behind some sportscars along the way but nonetheless enjoyable.
Nice route with some local traffic.
Road surface is poor, 80-100 max km/h.
Some tricky junctions.
The best comes at the end, that's the reason why I add this route.
You ride down the hill in the forest suddenly forest ends and you do big wow :-)
You can continue to go further to Teuven but ...
